TV presenter receives message from partner's ex-girlfriend just hours after calling off wedding

Danika Mason and her partner Todd Liubinskas called off their wedding just three weeks before the ceremony was set to be held

A TV presenter who reportedly called off her wedding to her fiancé just weeks before the ceremony was set to take place has received some unlikely support from one of his ex-girlfriends.

Danika Mason received a message from a former partner of her now former partner Todd Liubinskas.

The pair were set to be married in just three weeks, before Danika reportedly realised that she couldn’t do it and called the whole thing off.

Mason – who is a presenter working on a number of Australian rugby league programmes, including reporting at live NRL games – has been said to be ‘beyond devastated’ and ‘completely heartbroken’ by friends.

Now, she’s received a message of condolence and support from one of Todd’s exes, who told Daily Mail Australia: “I can only hope that Danika hasn’t been blindsided like I was or going through something similar,

“My heart goes out to her if she was.”

The 30-year-old returned to work quickly after the split, taking to the microphone to report on the game between Penrith Panthers and Melbourne Storm.

Whilst interviewing Panthers captain Stephen Crichton on Friday night, Mason put on a brave face and smiled for the camera, continuing her work professionally.

Then, on Saturday, she was back on Aussie screens, this time being seen without her wedding ring on.

Mason had been seen wearing the ring at games earlier in the season, including during coverage of State of Origin – a three game series between the states of New South Wales and Queensland – back in June.

The former couple were last seen together as they attending the opening of a BYD electric car showroom, just two weeks before the wedding was called off.

They’ve been together for over three years and share a Labrador called Charlie together.

The couple had been engaged since 2021, when they both posted on Instagram to confirm that Todd had asked the question.

So far, the pair haven’t made any official statement regarding their break-up.

Mason started her career as an intern at Channel 9 back in 2012, before rising through the ranks to become the host of The Sunday Footy Show.

She’s also a pitchside reporter for the network’s NRL matches, as well as working on other sports broadcasts, such as for the Australian Open.

Liubinskas works in the fitness industry and is a strength and conditioning coach, as well as a personal trainer.

Tyla has previously contacted representatives for Danika Mason and Todd Liubinskas for a comment.
