Caitlyn Jenner shared a very controversial theory on why we are seeing an increase in the number of people coming out as transgender.

The 75-year-old former Olympic athlete publicly transitioned herself in 2015 at the age of 65 and since then has left people baffled with her views.

Despite being a transgender woman, Caitlyn has been vocal about her surprising stance, for example, opposing trans girls participating in women's sports.

Back in 2023, she claimed that the number of people who are coming out as trans was 'skyrocketing' and attributed this to 'indoctrination and over saturation of the topic'.

She wrote on Twitter that the transgender community was 'skyrocketing at levels we have never seen before!', before adding: "Insane!!! Disturbing in fact!"

Caitlyn later added: "Indoctrination and over saturation of the topic - led by the radical leftists to destroy the family unit to create bigger govt (I obviously believe trans is real - but very very very rare, not the numbers we are seeing today)."

As we know, the more likely real reason that we may be seeing more people coming out as trans is actually because there has been an increased level of acceptance and destigmatisation of the transgender community.

So, due to more representation, people may simply feel more able to come out.

Caitlyn's views have sparked confusion over the years, and earlier this year, she celebrated Donald Trump's controversial executive order directly affecting transgender athletes in women's sports.

In February, the US president, 79, signed a new piece of legislation while speaking against the notion of transgender athletes competing on women's sport teams, also announcing plans to deny federal funds for schools that allow it.

Caitlyn wrote on Twitter at the time: "Another victory in the fight for protecting women’s sports! President Trump signs an Executive Order keeping biological men out of women’s sports!"

She continued: "As an Olympian, I will continue to fight this issue, lobbying sport governing body’s all over the world to follow our lead!"

Understandably, people were confused and took to social media to share their thoughts.

"You are so confusing," one person wrote.

While someone else argued: "Legitimate question - as a trans woman, are you cool with them just slowly erasing trans people, their rights, and everything they’ve worked towards?"

Her comments resurfacing come as Jennifer Flavin Stallone has also come under fire for her theory on the alleged 'rise' in transgender children in Hollywood.

The 57-year-old wife of actor Sylvester Stallone said on Katie Miller's podcast: "I just think Hollywood is, you know, it’s all about expression. So, you know, however you want to express yourself. If you feel like a cat today, you’re a cat. And it’s so loosey-goosey.

"I don’t think that we’re really understanding that these kids are not our accessories."

She continued: "They’re little human beings that need structure. And structure is really important for them because it helps their brain organise everything.

"I think, growing up in a Hollywood home, there's really no structure - you've got this thing going, you've got private planes, giant homes with chefs and secretaries and assistants and housekeepers and nannies."

Stallone added: "It's okay what you decide to be as an adult. But raise them just with good common sense."

Speaking of her own daughters, she continued: "They'd prefer to wear pants than dresses, they love sport - but I never said, 'Oh, you're a boy now'. I just said, 'Let's play sports, you love to hang out with boys, that’s awesome."
