Actor Woody Harrelson has been met with backlash after making negative comments about the Donald Trump administration - but not for the reason you’d think.
Woody, who has been a staple mainstay on TV and film for decades, came out against the president of the US, but also admitted to having a personal experience with Trump and his wife, Melania in 2002.
He explained to AP his fears of the future because of the current administration.
He revealed his stance at the premiere of Lyndon B. Johnson biopic LBJ, as he drew comparisons between the 60s civil-rights drama and Trump's controversial orders.

"We’re going backwards," he said, going on to talk about the racism and bigotry seen in the US since Trump came into power the first time in 2016 - when this interview was held.
Revealing we need a 'great president' to replace Trump, who is 'fermenting hate,' he said it's unlikely the 'son of a b****' will leave office.
The actor didn't mince words about the POTUS, but that might be because of a personal run in he had when he met with the couple for dinner.
In an interview with Esquire in 2019, the actor shared how it went - and it wasn't great.

“We all met up and sat down. Melania was there, even though they weren’t married yet. And let me tell you, it was a brutal dinner. Two and a half hours," he said, and went on to say: “At a table with four people, everyone should get about 25% of the conversation, right? I’d say Melania got maybe 0.1%. I got about 1%. Trump took the rest.”
The Trump Tower dinner was joined with the former governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura, who had invited Harrelson.
Harrelson went on to claim Trump’s personality was an issue, telling the outlet: “I’m from Hollywood — I’ve seen a lot of narcissists. But this guy was beyond anything. He blew my mind.”
The dinner was so uncomfortable for the Zombieland star, that at one point, he smoked a joint on the terrace, before going back into the onslaught of words.
But at one point, the conversation took a turn when he claims Trump told him: “I’m worth $4 billion, but when I die, no matter how much it is, I know my kids are going to fight over it.”
Despite speaking out against Trump’s monologue and negative dinner etiquette, people online have called him out - namely, for his role in the Trump administration.
Some Redditors have claimed Harrelson, who hasn’t particularly been too political in his career, played a role in the state of the US right now.
Bringing up a photo in 2023 showing Harrelson seeming to promote Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s 2024 presidential campaign, one person wrote: “Yet he'll gladly attend White House dinners and take pictures with RFK. Stfu.”
Another claimed he helped Trump come into power, assuming he voted for Trump, calling his political stance 'brain dead'.

This dumbass helped get him elected with his brain-dead views.”
Someone else said he needs to acknowledge his previous views before coming out against Trump, stating: “I'm all for people changing their views since we are in the midst of fascism , but it is wildly frustrating that they do it without taking any accountability for how they helped empower this administration.”
