Britney Spears’ representative has shut down reports that she behaved ‘erratically’ at a restaurant and ‘wielded a knife’.

On Thursday (14 May), TMZ cited sources who claimed that the 44-year-old pop star was sitting with a man and a woman at Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks, LA, on Wednesday night and ‘quickly started causing a scene’.

The sources alleged to the publication that the ‘Womanizer’ singer was ‘raising her voice, screaming, and even barking at times’.

A restaurant patron claimed that Britney walked near their table holding a knife, but believes she may have simply forgotten to put it down at her table.

They also alleged that the star lit a cigarette inside near the door, which prompted staff to ask for it to be put out.

On 13 May, entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider posted on X that he was allegedly eating dinner next to the star and said it was a ‘WILD experience’.

He wrote, “She just left, and everyone in the restaurant turned and started talking about it. An INSANE dining experience. One diner feared for her life. This is not a joke…”

However, Britney’s rep has since spoken out against the claims, branding them as a ‘constant attack on everything she does’.

A representative/spokesperson for Britney told LADBible Group:” This is completely blown out of proportion.”

They explained: “Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard.

“She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife.

“She was cutting her hamburger in half. This constant attack on everything that she does, and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous, and it needs to stop now.”

It comes just days after the singer updated her followers and told them she’s on a ‘spiritual journey’.

She posted a picture of herself Instagram holding a baby snake after visiting a pet shop with her children and wrote in the caption: “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at [what] a beautiful baby snake this is.

“… Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck…”

She added: “I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey … all a blessing in disguise…”

“I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never ending journey and sometimes I just stop, look up and say wow God I think that was you and smile on!!!!”

At the start of the month, Britney pleaded guilty to a lesser charge following her arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence in March.

She was sentenced to 12 months’ probation and one day in jail, credited as time served, as well as being fined $571.00.

The singer must also attend a three-month DUI programme, see a psychologist once a week, and a psychiatrist twice a month. Her vehicle has also been authorised to be searched for drugs and alcohol.
