Despite this year's Met Gala having taken place over a week ago, much is still being said about Billie Eilish's choice of outfit.
The star has long been known for her abstract and adventurous fashion sense, often donning oversized tailored suits, neon wigs or textured two-pieces to red carpet events.
Every now and then, however, the 'Birds Of A Feather' hitmaker stuns spectators by rocking up to star-studded soirees wearing a sensational couture ballgown - like she did at the 2023 Met Gala, the theme of which was 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty', in honour of the designer.

Last year, however, fans of the festivities were somewhat saddened when it was confirmed that Billie wouldn't be in attendance to Anna Wintour's annual gala, with many fans having wondered how she'd fulfil the 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' theme.

Naturally, therefore, when photos began going viral of the 23-year-old - dressed in a navy suit adorned with red roses, in keeping with this year's Superfine: Tailoring Black Style - on the New York City red carpet last week, viewers couldn't wait to have their say.
It turns out, though, that not everything is as it seems with regards to the sultry snaps in question - they've been made using AI.

Whilst many of her celebrity gal pals were liaising at the fashion get-together, Billie was actually over 3,000 miles away, in Europe.
The chart-topper confirmed the images were fake in a social media upload last night (Wed 14 May), having recorded a video of herself speaking.
"Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala 'being trash,'" she began. "I wasn’t there!"
Billie went on to explain: "That’s AI. I had a show in Europe that night."

She begged: "Let me be! I wasn’t even there!"
On the evening in question, the 'What Was I Made For' singer was in Amsterdam on 4, 5 and 7 May, performing at the Ziggo Dome.
Taking to Twitter to discuss Billie's Instagram rant, one noted: "ai is getting very scary."

Another wrote: "It's funny how much attention Al-genrated stuff gets. Billie. Keep rocking those stages."
"People need to learn how to fact check," a third advised.
The online discussion comes just days after fellow musician Katy Perry was forced to issue a statement similar to Billie's, with falsified photos of her at the same event having also amassed much attention online.
Perry, 40, was seen in viral photos last week donning a liquid-like skirt on her lower-half, which she'd seemingly paired with a navy, pinstriped blazer on top - going along with this year's theme that made Black dandy its central subject.

Like Billie, however, the 'Hot N Cold' hit-maker was nowhere near New York on the night in question, and was instead spending the weekend with her mother in California.
Sharing the fake photos on her own Instagram page, Perry confirmed in the caption: "couldn’t make it to the MET, I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL)".

The mother-of-one added: "P.s. this year I was actually with my mom so she’s safe from the bots but I’m praying for the rest of y’all."
Discussing the advanced technology, one fan of Perry gushed in the comments: "WAIT she ate this tf up her dress looks like liquid omg."
Another wrote: "she is the best dressed tonight. NO DEBATE."
