Selena Gomez’s fiancé Benny Blanco slammed over 'slap in the face' post of him eating blueberries

Critics have hit out at music producer Benny Blanco after he filmed himself eating some pretty fancy blueberries

The cost of living keeps on rising, and for many people, every penny counts when it comes to grocery shopping.

Whether it's meal prepping, searching for yellow sticker bargains or shopping across several different stores to find the cheapest deals, many people are cutting costs when it comes to their food and drink.

This is likely why Selena Gomez's fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, has come under fire after he shared a TikTok video featuring him trying some very unusual blueberries.

He captioned the post 'expensive blueberries', and recorded himself talking to the camera while he tried them, and was delighted by the frankly obscenely proportioned fruit.

Wearing a white t-shirt and a lot of gold chains and jewellery, Benny - who has a rumoured net worth of $250 million - holds up some of the berries to the lens.

"These blueberries they just sent me are the biggest things I've ever seen in the world," he exclaims, before showing an incredibly fancy navy blue box.

This isn't the clear plastic containers you'll get in Lidl, oh no.

The monster berries are individually placed in foam, packaging you're more used to seeing for fancy chocolate boxes.

"This is insane!" continues Benny, as he picks one out of the box. "This is a blueberry!"

He bit into one of them, saying: "Oh my god... it's like a f**king meal! Can you guys even see the scale of this?"

Benny ate three more in quick succession, calling them 'delicious' before adding: "I think the boxes are like $200, that's crazy" before eating a few more and adding that they were 'insane'.

Commenters rushed to share their shock at the price of the luxury blueberries, and it seems many people missed the part where he said he was sent them instead of buying them.

"$200?!!! Here I gasped at $7.06 for my Cotton Candy grapes last week," said one - cotton candy grapes are brilliant, to be fair.

"I don't even have $200 in my account! Must be nice spending that much just for blueberries," added another.

One critic suggested musicians have too much money: "I really like this guy, but man, the rich are clearly not taxed enough," as another agreed: "oh, he's rich rich".

Warning: The below video contains strong language

This person fumed: "Weird flex... You can afford $200 on blueberries which is fine your money whatever but your audience is massively struggling and feels like a slap in the face seeing someone waste $200 on special enlarged blueberries, when there are people starving and can barely afford them at the grocery store."

However, one fan supported him: "Everyone hating on him because he's rich and can afford $200 blueberries… he earned his success and money,"

Others questioned how come the rich and famous get sent the expensive gifts: "Why do the rich get all the PR packages and stuff... we are out here can't pay for groceries no more."
