Ariana Grande has directly addressed a Photoshop fail from her recent photoshoot with Vogue Japan as eagle-eyed fans spotted an obscure detail.

Earlier this week, the 32-year-old Wicked star shared a series of snaps from the magazine shoot - one of which included the awkward editing mishap, which left Ariana with six fingers instead of five.

The photo in question featured the actress in an off-white, floral outfit courtesy of Dior. She stunned in a long-sleeved, buttoned-up collar shirt which was left open, paired with a mini skirt of the same fabric.

Ariana paired the ensemble with sheer white gloves and Swarovski jewellery.

After catching light of the slip-up, hawk-eyed fans rushed to social media to share their reactions with one Instagram user questioning: "Who’s responsible for giving Ariana 6 fingers…"

"Welp - I didn’t notice that!" confessed a second as another echoed: "I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE."

And a fourth lamented: "I’m so confused like how did this even happen?"

Vogue Japan appears to have since corrected the issue on-site.

News of the Photoshop issue quickly worked its way back to the 'Side to Side' singer as she took to the comments section of the fan post herself to share her response.

Ariana penned: "Holy sh*t."

Clearly seeing the humour in the blunder, she added in another comment: "Oh my goodness how exciting! I’ve been saying I need some extra appendages so that I can start an album! Thankful for this."

Other than providing fans with a double-take moment, the Vogue Japan interview saw Ariana candidly open up about what life was like in the spotlight.

"I feel like there have been a lot of times when I’ve been doing my best work creatively, and yet my celebrity has been louder than the work," she shared.

Ariana also featured a new instalment of Vogue's Life in Looks series where she revealed the sad reason she wore oversized hoodies in 2018.

She was presented with a photo of herself taken in New York City in 2018, where she was wearing a black oversized jumper with matching knee-high heeled boots and a green crossbody bag.

"Okay wow. 2018. I am leaving my old apartment in New York. This was a very strange time in my life," Ariana began.

"I was processing a lot, and I always wanted to hide away in something really cozy," she explained, adding: "But I remember that the boots still made me feel c*nt."

Ariana admitted: "I genuinely, at the time, did not have the mental energy to consider clothing. "So the easiest thing for me was to throw on a sweatshirt and a c*nty boot and that was how it happened.

"I'm sorry to say it. This is just the honest truth."
