Amanda Seyfried says Channing Tatum ‘peed on her leg’ while filming Dear John

It's been almost 16 years since tear-jerking blockbuster Dear John was released - but lead actress Amanda Seyfried recently exposed her co-star Channing Tatum for his questionable behaviour on set.

For those unfamiliar with the drama-romance - based on Nicholas Sparks' 2006 book of the same name - it follows the life of United States Army Special Forces sergeant John Tyree, played by Tatum. John returns home from Afghanistan to North Carolina, where he meets and falls in love with a college student named Savannah Curtis, played by Seyfried.

As is the case with any gut-wrenching war movie, their relationship is tested by John's ceaseless deployments before ending when Savannah writes him a break-up letter (hence, 'Dear John'), and marries someone else.

If you're already invested in the plot of this 2010 hit, worry not, because (spoiler alert), Savannah's husband dies of cancer, but not before telling John she still loves him, and the two are reunited at long last.

It mightn't sound it, but the big-name production was one big sob fest, made even sweeter by the beachside backdrops that made up most scenes.

During the film's press tour, Seyfried, 40, ceaselessly gushed about working with 45-year-old Tatum, especially with regard to the amount of fun they enjoyed on set.

It wasn't until last week, however, that fans of the heartbreaking flick gained an insight into what this actually entailed, with the Mamma Mia actress sharing a hilarious anecdote about her former cast-mate.

Speaking to Deadline on 15 January, Seyfried claimed that, in between scenes, the Step Up frontman had urinated on her during a 'prank'.

"He peed on my leg once, without me knowing," the mother-of-two began. "He peed on my leg on the beach, and I didn’t realise at first, and then I was like, 'Oh, that’s why he’s standing so close to me'.

"There was a coffee cup very close by, and a little bit got in the coffee cup, and he ran away as I was screaming."

Seyfried went on to recall: "One of the makeup artists picked it up and was about to drink it, and I saved her."

Thankfully, however, the Pennsylvania movie star claimed she was able to laugh the whole thing off, citing it as one of her fondest memories she and Tatum shared together.

"Because it just goes to show the relationship that I had with Channing Tatum in Dear John," Seyfried explained. "He and I effed with each other the entire movie in, like, a super, super fun way."

She added: "He’s very, very funny, and we had a great time."

Tyla has contacted representatives of Channing Tatum for comment.
