Warner Bros have dropped the first trailer for their Tom & Jerry hybrid movie, which combines classic animation with live-action.

Set to return to the big screen in 2021, the fan-favourite cartoon cat and mouse have got us feeling super nostalgic.

Watch the trailer here:

If you love Who Framed Roger Rabbit? with its mix of cartoon fun and real-life actors, then the latest spin on Tom & Jerry is for you.

The trailer sees the famous cat and mouse decide to put their long-time rivalry behind them (this doesn't last long, of course) and take a trip to New York City.

Once in NYC, the pair cause mayhem in a fancy hotel the night before a big society wedding set to be held there.

The supporting human cast features some major acting talent.

Chloë Grace Moretz (The Miseducation Of Cameron Post) and Rob Delaney (Catastrophe) take on roles as hotel staff on a mission to stop Tom & Jerry's hijinks.

Elsewhere on the cast list there's Michael Peña, Colin Jost, Ken Jeong and Pallavi Sharda.

"After a lifetime of being the world's most famous enemies," narrates the trailer's voiceover. "Tom & Jerry are about to start over in the big city."

We then cut to the plush hotel, which we learn has hosted "four presidents, three popes, two kings" and is now set to "host the wedding of the century."

The movie's mix of live-action and classic animation is reminiscent of 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' (

Unfortunately for hotel staff, the arrival of its new cartoon residents means that the swish institution now has "a mouse problem".

Cue plenty of slapstick and silliness as Tom and Jerry wreak havoc on the hotel - and each other.

Tom & Jerry's big screen revival is a long time coming. The pair's last feature film was Tom and Jerry: The Movie, released way back in 1992.

No release date has been confirmed, but we know the hybrid flick is due out in movie theatres some time in 2021.

Roll on the return of our favourite enemies-turned-frenemies!
