Sandra Oh, who plays MI5 Officer Eve Polastri in BBC's latest drama Killing Eve, has admitted that she had to fight to save her favourite scene after producers cut it from the show.

The actress revealed that her favourite scenes to play were those centring around Eve's private moments, and one of her fondest was in episode five, where Eve was stood at a bus stop alone.

In an interview with The New York Times, Sandra said she liked playing these kind of scenes, as Eve wasn't aware of herself, although the actress had to fight to keep one of the moments in the series.

Sandra said: "In episode five, which is my favourite episode, right before she meets Villanelle, you find Eve at a bus stop.

"And honestly, my favourite things to play are Eve's private moments, because she is not so aware of herself, and that's always so juicy to play as an actor.

"And she is at this bus stop and she sees the window, there's a crack in the window, and for some reason she just wants to smush it, and she does.

"At one point they pulled that scene out, and I was like, 'No, you've got to put that scene back in, because she's about to come face to face with Villanelle. She needs to break through something'.

"That was one of my favorite scenes to play."

Despite the terrestrial run of the show not being over just yet, those who have finished the series on iPlayer are already getting excited for season two.

Killing Eve was renewed for a second series in America before the show had even been streamed in the UK and after a successful stateside debut in April.

As Pheobe Waller-Bridge is currently filming a new series of Fleabag, the responsibility of writing series two has been passed on to Emerald Fennell, but Pheobe will stay on as an Executive Producer.

Emerald will be well known as Nurse Patsy Mount from Call The Midwife, but since 2012 she has had four books published.

Filming on the second run of Killing Eve has already begun, with shooting taking place in Amsterdam, London and Paris, so expect to see the show back on your screens in spring 2019.
