The US remake of The Office is officially returning to Netflix UK and in Ireland next year.
The streaming platform teased the show would be making a comeback by sharing an iconic quote from Steve Carell's character, Michael Scott, on social media, writing: "Oh my god. Okay, it's happening! Everybody stay calm. Stay calm! Stay F***ING calm!!"

It then added: "The Office (US) returns to Netflix UK/IE in January."
Unfortunately for US viewers, The Office will not be available on the streamer, as it has been sold exclusively with NBCUniversal's platform, Peacock, from 2021.
Furthermore, reports suggest that the show won't return to Netflix US until at least 2026.
Much like the UK version of the show, the show takes on a mockumentary format, following employees at Scranton - Pennsylvania's Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

The show - executive produced by Ricky Gervais, and Stephen Merchant, among others - featured stars including Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and B. J. Novak as the main cast, with additions of Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson, James Spader, Ellie Kemper, and Catherine Tate as it went on.
It first aired in March 2005 and ran through to 2013 for nine seasons.
The Office US hasn't been on Netflix in the UK or Ireland since October 2015, meaning there will be many fans of the show hankering for a binge.

While another wrote: "Oh my god Netflix have I ever told you have much I love you?"
A third chipped in: "I adore the UK series. I've never seen the US series. Maybe now I should rectify that?"
