Remember when the adventures of Tommy, Chuckie, Susie, Kimi, Phil and Lil and Angelica were all we had to worry about? We do, and it's fair to say that Rugrats has been a favourite cartoon amongst '90's kids ever since it bursted onto our screens.
But now in 2021, some millennials have had quite the shock after they discovered the real age of Didi Pickles, Tommy's mum, and they have realised they are now closer in age to her than the actual Rugrats.
In case you didn't know Didi was 32 at the start of the series when it debuted in August 1991. Stu, her husband and Tommy's father, was 33. Didi's age was revealed in a series 6 episode called "Junior prom" that aired in April 1999. The episode reveals Didi attended her high school's Bicentennial themed junior prom at Swift High School.
The US celebrated its 200th year as an independent nation in 1976, meaning Didi graduated from school the following year at age 18 in 1977 and making her year of birth 1959. She was therefore 32 when the show started in 1991.

Twitter user Tim Hogan tweeted a screenshot of Didi and her husband Stu looking very tired and overworked from the classic cartoon. "Just found out Stu and [Didi] Pickles from Rugrats were 33 and 32 and now I'm upset," he said.
The tweet has since gone viral on Twitter, with thousands of retweets and just over 200 responses.
"I just realised I am [Didi]," said one shocked fan.

"Having just turned 32, I feel personally attacked by this," one Twitter user joked.
A second person said: "I don't know how I feel about this but I got a good chuckle out of it."
While another account shared: "They weren't old, [they] just looked like that cause of the newborns."

"I just turned 30 two weeks ago," said one woman.
Other Twitter users decided to warn others not to to search for the Marge and Homer Simpson's real ages if they were still in shock after learning about Didi and Stu's age.
"If you hate this, I have bad news about Homer and Marge Simpson," said on user.

A second person replied to the original tweet and said: "Felt that way when I learned Marge Simpson was 34 and Homer was 36."
And in related Rugrats news, an animated reboot series premiered on the American streaming network Paramount+ in May this year. It also follows the adventures of Tommy and the rest of the gang and it features members of the original cast.
It looks as if 2021 has been a hectic year for Rugrats fans so far!
