If, like us, you've been on tenterhooks waiting for a release date for Robert Pattinson's upcoming movie The Devil All The Time, then wait no more: 16th September is the big day.

The Netflix film - which is based on the Donal Ray Pollock 2011 novel of the same name - is described as a "Midwestern gothic tale" and plays out in rural southern Ohio and West Virginia.

It's a star-studded cast, too.

Written by Antonio Campos and Paulo Campos, The Devil All The Time will feature (wait for it) Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgård, Riley Keough, Jason Clarke, Sebastian Stan, Robert Pattinson, Haley Bennett, Mia Wasikowska, Eliza Scanlen, Harry Melling and Pokey LaFarge.

Phew, that's some line up.

Directed by Antonio Campos, and based on a screenplay adaptation of Pollock's novel written by Antonio and Paulo Campos, the movie stretches from the end of World War II up to the 1960s.

The film will transport viewers to the backwoods of Knockemstiff, Ohio, which is full of strange and sinister characters who are struggling to cope with the aftermath of war.

'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson will play unholy preacher Preston Teagardin (

As yet, there's no trailer for the movie - we'll update you as soon as we know more.

For all you R Patz fans wondering what role the Twilight star plays in the thriller, his character is Preston Teagardin, a less-than-holy preacher and the nephew of local Reverend Sykes.

Preston is new in town and also has a wandering eye when it comes to women.

Among the other characters are tormented veteran Willard Russell (Bill Skarsgård) who prays hard for the recovery of his wife, Charlotte, sick with cancer.

Then there's husband-and-wife serial killer duo Carl and Sandy Henderson (Jason Clarke and Riley Keough) who cruise America's highways on the hunt for potential models to "photograph and exterminate".

Meanwhile, spider-handling preacher Roy and his guitar-playing cripple Theodore are on the run from the law.

In the midst is Arvin Eugene Russell (played by Tom Holland), son of Willard and Charlotte, who grows up refusing to be corrupted by an unjust world.

Jake Gyllenhaal serves as exec producer, alongside Riva Marker, Gretchen McGowan, Randall Poster, and Max Born.
