One of the many things we love about the Harry Potter movies are the incredible costumes. From Dumbledore's extravagant silk robes and Harry's Quidditch uniform to Dolores Umbridge's pink ensembles, each outfit helps show off the numerous personalities of all the different characters.
But did you know that Severus Snape only ever wore the same all-black ensemble throughout all the movies?
Mad.
It has come to light that the scary professor never changed out of his long black robe, and now we can't stop thinking about it.

To be fair, his outfit matches his personality perfectly, and he even wore it when being aligned with Lord Voldemort as a Death Eater. But why was he the only character to never change his costume, do you ask?
"I never changed Professor Snape," costume designer Jany Temime told HelloGiggles.
"I used the Professor Snape costume and I remade it. I made another cape. I always kept Professor Snape [as he was], because I thought it was a great costume."

Jany joined the franchise during the third movie, The Prisoner of Azkaban, and being the first 'dark' Harry Potter film, she did alter some of the previous outfits, according to Fashionista. These included placing a hood and collar on the Hogwarts robes, and giving the Quidditch uniforms a much more rugby feel to them.
But when it came to Snape's outfit, she elaborated, "It was perfect," Jany said. "When something is perfect you cannot change it. Why should you change it? It was him. And he never changes, Professor Snape. He's the sort of guy who goes to bed in his costume. Bless him, Alan Rickman."
The theory that Alan Rickman loved his outfit as much as we do is backed on Twitter, with one fan posting: "They said Alan Rickman would each lunch with the crew but he would be in full Snape costume and therefore would stay in character during lunch and tell the crew off like they were Hogwarts students."
Another added: "Unlike everyone else on Twitter I've never met Bill Nighy, but when they were filming Harry Potter in Oxford I once saw Alan Rickman in his full Snape costume, walking from the old History Faculty to the Bodleian Library," said one fan.

We couldn't imagine him in anything else, to be honest.
