Hot on the trail of a suspenseful new Netflix binge?

Look no further than Dangerous Lies, an ominous thriller landing on the streaming platform April 30th.

The movie stars Riverdale's Camila Mendes as broke caregiver Katie, who has taken up a position looking after elderly patient Leonard (played by Elliot Gould, better known as Monica's dad in Friends).

When Leonard - who is a man of serious wealth - dies, he unexpectedly leaves his entire estate to Katie.

But going by the trailer, there's much more to the gesture than meets the eye.

As a disbelieving Katie and her husband Adam (Jessie T. Usher) begin to set up home in the house she's inherited, dark secrets surrounding her newfound wealth begin to unravel.

In the trailer, the pair are shown stumbling on a mysterious box of cold hard cash in the attic.

We have so many questions. Is the money Leonard's? Or was it planted there?

Either way, the discovery of the cash clearly puts a strain on the couple's relationship.

Adam is eager to spend the money and "treat ourselves", while Katie is more cautious.

Cue mounting tensions, plus a whole lot of freaky happenings in the house. Who is the person creeping up the stairs in the trailer?

Meanwhile, an intrusive estate agent (played by Twilight's Cam Gigandet) is hell-bent on getting Katie to sell the property altogether. We'd take his advice, tbh.

Netflix describes what follows as "a web of deception and murder." Yes please.

"If she's going to survive, she'll have to question everyone's motives," teases the streaming giant. "Even the people she loves."

Directed by Michael Scott and produced by Margaret H. Huddlestone and Stephanie Slack, the movie has echoes of Brenda Song's Secret Obsession and Knives Out.

90 minutes of nail biting? We. Are. Ready.
