Wes Nelson has revealed that girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson and Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa Bauer spoke on the phone in a bid to end their feud before Sunday's live show.

Speaking on Heart Radio, the Love Island star revealed that he backs his girlfriend following her Instagram rant aimed at Vanessa earlier this week.

Wes claimed that Megan only wrote the message after she was accused of looking miserable while watching him dance.

Thankfully, the feud has been resolved after Wes admitted that the women had spoke on the phone and they were both happy.

Wes said: "It's a lot of pressure for Megs. It's concluded. They've spoken to each other. They're happy.

"Meg has suffered a lot. She has come to support me, cheer me on, and then got absolutely nailed for doing it.

"The outburst with Vanessa, that was the result of a lot of negative press."

Despite admitting that the pair had spoken, he wouldn't reveal what was actually said during the exchange.

Wes said: "I don't even know what they spoke about, I just let women get on with their women talk."

However, he did say that his loyalties are with Megan and that he would always back her.

He added: "She has said, 'I wish I had privately messaged her'.

"She's not apologising for it. It's how she feels. I'm not going to argue with it. I'm going to back my girlfriend.

"I don't want to mess anything with the show or with my girlfriend. We understand what's going on. They've spoken, we've sorted it"

But before you sit back and think you can watch Dancing On Ice without cringing then you're mistaken.

Wes hit out at skating professional Matt Evers for accusing Megan of looking 'sour' in the audience.

"I think that was uncalled for to be fair. The fact that he's judged that off a screen print of her from a two hour show - one millisecond of a two hour show that she's not smiling is the one that they say, 'Oh she was screwing'," he said.

"She was laughing and joking the whole time, I was watching her the whole time, laughing and joking."

Megan also appeared on Loose Women yesterday afternoon to address her Instagram post about Vanessa.

Speaking to the panel she said: "I should have messaged Vanessa, got her number and said, 'Babe, I want to be friends'.

"I sent her a message last night and we're resolving it now. I don't want to discuss it, but hopefully we're resolving it now."
