A new episode of true crime docuseries Lady Killers will tell the story of a woman consumed with jealousy who plotted to murder her sister.

The gripping documentary series, airing on Quest Red, explores the most shocking crimes committed by women and tonight's episode will centre on the murder of mother-of-four Saima Khan.

On 26th May 2016, Saima Khan was found dead in her home in Luton having suffered 68 stab wounds.

Initially police believed it to be a burglary gone wrong, but following a strange and emotionless witness statement from her sister, who had discovered her body, and a closer look at the case, they discovered the sinister truth behind what had happened.

In truth, Saima had been the victim of a cold blooded, pre-meditated attack by her sister Sabah Khan, who was consumed with jealousy.

Sabah had been having an affair with Saima's husband, Hafeez Rehman, right under her nose in the home that they all shared. She was infatuated with Hafeez, so when he and Saima expressed plans to move out, Sabah, who wanted her sister out of the picture for good, began a sick plot to end her life.

"She was infatuated with Hafeez, her sister's husband. She wanted him to be entirely her own and she would stop of nothing to try and achieve that," says former detective Peter Bleksley in the episode. So Khan took to the Internet to plan how she would do it.

She searched multiple methods of how to bring about her sister's death including buying poison, venomous snakes, and even paying a Pakistani Witch Doctor £5,000 to put a spell on her.

"She'd searched for venomous snakes and poison, so it was clear that she had looked into how to kill her sister for some time," author and former Detective Clare Mackintosh reveals.

Out of options, Sabah bought a kitchen knife from the shop and butchered her sister while her children slept upstairs.

The documentary will explore the web of lies that Sabah spun after the killing.

"When the Police attended, they found a scene of carnage in the hallway," Jo Sidhu, Sabah's Defence Barrister, says in the doc. "It was literally a blood bath. Her sister's body was mutilated."

Police bodycam footage from the scene shows a breathless Sabah describe the scene she'd apparently walked in to, feigning shock. But Forensic Psychologist Dr Donna Youngs argues her guilt shines through, and she fails to exhibit emotion.

"What's really condemning here is that even though she's got it intellectually sorted, there's not a lot of the appropriate emotion," she says. "She's completely forgetting in her attempts to get her story across to exhibit appropriate emotion."

In 2017, Sabah Khan pleaded guilty to her sister's murder, and was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 22 years.

The Lady Killers airs at 10pm on Thursday on Quest Red.
