It may only be a few short days into January, but Noelle Sheldon - who played Ross and Rachel's daughter Emma on Friends - has won 2020 after she poked fun at one of the sitcom's most memorable moments.

Ringing in the new decade, Noelle, who starred as the baby alongside her twin sister Cali, took to Instagram to reference a 2003 episode of the show, titled 'The One With The Cake', in which the gang reluctantly celebrate Emma's birthday as she lays asleep.

The bash unfortunately causes Monica and Chandler to miss their holiday - leaving them both infuriated.

In his anger, Chandler leaves the toddler a special birthday message, which is to be shown to her when she turns 18 in May, and claims she would not have woken up till 2020.

In the infamous clip, he says: "Hi, Emma. It's the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?"

To which Monica adds: "We're Aunt Monica and Uncle Chandler, by the way - you may not recognise us because we haven't spoken to your parents in 17 years."

And Chandler jumped in: "We used to be married but then we missed a weekend away together and things kind of unravelled... because of you."

Having fun with the famous line, Noelle, 17, assured fans on Instagram that she finally got out of bed with a hilarious snap of her photoshopped into Central Perk.

Sharing with her 36,000 Instagram followers, she captioned the photo: "Just woke up from the best nap of all time, happy 2020!! (ft. my poorly done photoshop) Hope everyone has an excellent year full of family, friends, and laughter!!"

Getting in on the action, Noelle's twin Cali commented beneath: "Finally."
