Married At First Sight Australia: Dan Webb And Jess Power Basically Broke Up On Live TV After Filming Wrapped

The Married at First Sight Australia season 6 finale finally aired this week - and it certainly didn't disappoint in the drama stakes.

It was jam-packed with revelations, as Elizabeth Sobinoff found out what really happened between Sam Ball and Ines Bašić - and the truth about Jess Power and Dan Webb's relationship finally came out, including the scene in which Jess chatted Nic up behind Cyrell's back.

Oh, it was juicy!

Anyone who follows the cast will know that Jess and Dan are no longer together. So what exactly happened after that tense finale?

Well, they didn't split immediately, but shortly after the series premiered in 2019 the pair made a joint appearance on 9Honey's Talking Married.

The subject of Nic and Jess resurfaced, and the clip was shown again, which didn't go down very well at all.

"It was hard to watch and it's sort of re-scratched those feelings... I do love the girl but it's an awkward position I'm in right now," said Dan.

"Nic is on there saying nothing happened and I appreciate that and Jess has said her peace but the question I've got for Jess is why did she lie about it, I did ask her the first time we had a chat, did you try this with another guy.

"That's what unsettles me the most, [if she had] just told me 'yeah I did but there was nothing to it', I wouldn't have cared, but it seems to me she goes down with the lie.

"It's very conflicting, if she was just honest and said 'yeah I did try to hit on Nic, you just came in, I hadn't met you yet', I would have gone okay that's totally fine. It raises huge trust issues for me and that's what we've been struggling with."

Jess was then asked if she did hit on Nic, which she admitted for the first time on air, much to Dan's shock.

Not long after the interview, Dan revealed the pair had split, leading many fans to believe that the fateful 9Honey interview was the final straw.

"Me and Jess have split, let's get that straight. We have broken up," he told Yahoo in April 2019.

"There's allegations coming out that we're still together. She's saying we're still together. We are not together."
