Selena Gomez speaks out after Hailey Bieber’s tell all interview

The Only Murders in the Building star is urging her fans to be kind after Hailey Bieber addressed the online hate she gets

Selena Gomez has shared an important message of kindness after Hailey Bieber revealed that she has received harsh comments about her relationship with Justin Bieber. Watch the video below:

The ‘Kill em with Kindness’ singer, 30, dated the Canadian pop sensation on-and-off between 2010 and 2018. Justin and Hailey got married in 2018.

Some of Selena’s fans have struggled to let go of the relationship. The former couple were dubbed ‘Jelena’ and attracted countless online shippers.

The relationship has renewed attention after Hailey appeared on the podcast Call Her Daddy this week, where she shared that people make ‘vile and disgusting’ comments about her and her husband.

The Only Murders in the Building actor 'called out' the irony that some fans have ignored the message of spreading kindness from her Rare Beauty makeup collection and Rare Impact Fund.

Taking to TikTok Live, Selena said that being kind to each other is ‘exactly what I want’.

“It’s not fair because no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen,” she told her 43.6 million TikTok followers.

“If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means - and that is: Words matter. Truly matter.”

The singer shared one more final message: “I hope that you understand that this is much bigger than anything else.”

During her interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Hailey unpacked the hateful comments she’s been sent.

“A lot of the hate, and the perpetuation, comes from the misperception, 'Oh, you stole him,’” she told host Alex Cooper.

“It comes from the fact that they wished he had ended up with someone else and that's fine. You can wish that all you want but that's just not the case."

The model also clarified that there are no hard feelings between her and the Wizards of Waverly Place alum.

“I respect her a lot,” Hailey explained. “There's just no expectations. If that was something she felt was necessary, that would be amazing. But I just respect her, there's no drama, personally.”

The 25-year-old also addressed rumours that she cried at the 2021 Met Gala after crowds chanted 'Selena, Selena' when she and Justin walked the carpet.

“So, yes, I could hear everyone screaming. And, again, I think there’s a certain part of you that has a numbness. I was, like, really surprised.

“I could kind of hear it but I didn’t know if that’s what was really going on until I saw the video after.”

However, the model stated that she was not crying, but had 'something in her eye'.
