Rachel Weisz explains why she doesn't like to talk about being married to Daniel Craig

The Mummy actress prefers to keep her marriage to Daniel Craig out of the public spotlight.

Her husband may be a former James Bond, but Rachel Weisz still isn’t keen on talking about their marriage.

The Oscar winning actress revealed that she rarely speaks about husband Daniel Craig, calling him 'too famous' because of his 007 status.

Both Weisz and Craig are notoriously private and have avoided using social media, despite being in the public eye.

During a 2015 interview with More magazine, Weisz explained why she preferred to keep her marriage out of the limelight.

“He’s just too famous. It would be a betrayal,” she said.

However, the 52-year-old isn’t just cautious about speaking to the press about her husband, but also with her close friends.

Sharing some sage advice for younger women, Weisz explained: “You have to protect your marriage. When you’re young, you tell your girlfriends everything.

"One of the great pleasures of not being an adolescent is that you don’t have to share everything.

“When you’re married, that door closes. The audience goes, and you’re in your own life.”

After focusing on more dramatic roles, Weisz joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Melina Vostokoff in the highly anticipated Black Widow film in 2021.

It was her first major blockbuster since Oz: The Great and Powerful back in 2013.

Similarly, Craig has also faced intense media attention recently.

This is thanks to his role in Netflix’s Knives Out and his retirement from the Bond film franchise.

However, the power couple are so low key that many fans hadn’t realised they’d been married since 2011.

One shared their disbelief on Twitter, writing: “Learned that rachel weisz and daniel craig have been married for over 10 years. f*****g insane.”

Others were similarly as surprised, with another adding: “RACHEL WEISZ AND DANIEL CRAIG ARE MARRIED????? AND HAVE BEEN FOR 11 YEARSSSS?????”

However, fans shouldn't have been shocked as the couple have starred together numerous times after meeting on the set of psychological horror, Dream House.

They’ve even been on Broadway together, appearing in the Harold Pinter play, Betrayal.

The pair have been married since 2011.

As well acting together, Weisz has been known to occasionally fan girl over her secret agent husband.

Whilst appearing on The Graham Norton Show, she revealed that she bought a car sticker with his name on as a joke.

“I got one of those screen visor things, that you put up the top and it says Mrs Daniel Craig… I’ve got one,” she gushed.

The amusing decoration only makes the occasional appearance in Weisz’s car, as she explained: “I don’t keep it up all the time, just and again."
