Prince William Praised For His Euros Celebrations

This was too cute.

Prince William has been praised for his touching reaction to the Lionesses' Euros 2022 win against Germany on Sunday.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is the President of the Football Association, was beaming with pride from the sidelines during the game, and was down on the pitch to celebrate with the ladies as soon as the final goal was scored.

While shaking hands with all of the players, Prince William went in for a heartfelt hug when he reached team captain Leah Williamson.

The Duke also made a point to go in for a big hug when he reached veteran player Jill Scott, who has been a part of the Lionesses' journey for 16 years.

William had some words for forward Chloe Kelly, who won the game for England after scoring the final goal against Germany.

Fans were impressed with the prince's emotional reaction to the Lionesses' win, and took to social media to commend him.

"What a bloke Prince William is, a kind word for everyone of those girls who did the country proud, some were even getting hugs, fantastic bloke", tweeted one impressed football fan.

"Prince William's friendship and pride for our #Lionesses was on full display for the whole world tonight!" raved a third. "A King of the people, taking after Diana. Love that he offered a celebration hug to all the players who wanted one (most of the team)!"









"Well done HRH Prince William!" added another. "That's genuine enthusiasm...and pride!!!!"

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "I thought Prince William was brilliant - very much the human touch! Great win for England."

Before the monumental Wembley game, Prince William and his daughter Princess Charlotte posted a video to social media to wish the the women luck.

"We both want to wish the lionesses the best of luck tonight, you've done amazingly well in the competition and we're rooting for you all the way!" he said, before Charlotte added: "Good luck, I hope you win. Bye!"

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth was among the first to offer her congratulations after the ladies' win.

In a statement, she said: "My warmest congratulations, and those of my family, go to you all on winning the European Women’s Football Championships.

"It is a significant achievement for the entire team, including your support staff. The Championships and your performance in them have rightly won praise.

"However, your success goes far beyond the trophy you have so deservedly earned. You have all set an example that will be an inspiration for girls and women today, and for future generations.

"It is my hope that you will be as proud of the impact you have had on your sport as you are of the result today."
