People are flooding to social media in delight over Salma Hayek's daughter rewearing one of her mum's dresses to the Oscars.

At the 95th Academy Awards, held on 12 March, Salma Hayek was joined by her 15-year-old daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault.

The mother-daughter duo matched their outfits, both wearing gorgeous red dresses.

Pinault's dress held a special significance and fans of her mum - who recently starred in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - can't get enough of it.

Stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray took to Instagram to share details of Hayek and Pinault's co-ordinating Oscars outfits.

She wrote: "We pulled this beautiful Isaac Mizrahi dress for Valentina from Salma’s archive. Swipe to see when Salma originally wore it in 1997."

According to Corbin-Murray, the look was put together by Isaac Mizrahi with jewellery by Anita Ko, hair by Jennifer Yepez and make-up by Mario Dedivanovic, who is best known for Kim Kardashian's glam.

Hayek's dress and her daughter's bag were both by Gucci.

Hayek originally wore the dress in 1997 to a charity event for the Revlon/ UCLA Women's Cancer Program called the Fire and Ice Ball, and fans of the actor absolutely loved how Pinault's recycled of it for this year's Oscars.

One Twitter user said: "This is so wholesome. I'm not famous but I hope my future daughter will like to wear clothes I've put aside for her in the future."

"That's so beautiful," another wrote, while a third commented: "Slay."

And a final said: "They're #PERFECT."

Before attending the Oscars, Hayek shared a video to Instagram of her enjoying a pre-ceremony snack - a tip my mum always tries her best to enforce before any sort of night out.

The video shows Hayek in her dress, half zipped up, tucking into a wrap.

The caption reads: "Happy to keep the glamour going but first things first."

Hayek and Pinault's outfits weren't the only to receive praise online, with Lady Gaga's transformation from the red carpet to the stage also commended.

The singer wore a bold make-up look on the red carpet featuring a dark smokey eye, bright red lip and bright blusher to accompany a fresh-off-the runway Versace gown.

However, the House of Gucci star swiftly transformed before taking to the stage for her performance of 'Hold My Hand' from Top Gun: Maverick - wiping all her make-up off, going bare-faced and wearing ripped black jeans and a black t-shirt.

Similarly to Hayek and Pinault, fans were quick to flock to social media in awe of Gaga's look.
