Olivia Culpo says she was left with 'no sense of identity' after split from Nick Jones

Olivia Culpo has spoken out about her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas, explaining how she felt she had 'no sense of identity' after they broke up.

Discussing the relationship during the premiere of her new reality show, The Culpo Sisters - which Olivia stars in alongside sisters Sophia and Aurora - Olivia explained how she felt after the pair broke up.

"I did date Nick, and that was a very formative experience," Olivia explained.

"I moved to LA with him, I had no brand, no money, I was in love. And that was great, right? But then when he broke up with me, I was kinda left with no sense of identity, my whole identity was in him.

"Which is a very common story of a young person in love, I thought we were gonna get married, I thought all the things."

Olivia went on to explain that she struggled financially after the split, and couldn't even afford groceries.

“And I just remember, night after night, looking up at my ceiling in my apartment that I couldn’t afford thinking, ‘How am I going to pay my rent?’” she added.

“I couldn’t even afford my groceries. It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can’t give up.”

The pair dated for around two years and broke up in 2015, with Nick himself discussing how tough the split was during an interview with Extra TV in the same year.

“She’s an amazing person,” he said. “We had a great, beautiful few years together, but it’s been a crazy couple months and I wish the best to her for the future, but it’s tough.”

Nick is now married to Priyanka Chopra, with the pair welcoming a baby girl via surrogate back in January this year.

At the time, the couple shared a precious photo of baby Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, who spent the first few months of her life in intensive care.

"After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home," Priyanka wrote.

"Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is."

Olivia meanwhile, has been dating American football running back, Christian McCaffrey since 2019.

“He’s just the best, I feel like he is really everything that I could ever ask for,” she told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month.
