Olivia Attwood responds to pregnancy rumours as reason she left I’m A Celeb

Olivia Attwood responds to pregnancy rumours as reason she left I’m A Celeb

Olivia has now addressed the rumours

Olivia Attwood has hit back at pregnancy rumours that have been following her ever since she left the I'm A Celebrity camp early.

The reality star was among this year's favourites in this year's line-up, and seemed super excited to get stuck in with some Bushtucker trials. That's why fans were so shocked when ITV announced that Olivia had to leave the show after just 24 hours for medical reasons.

Before Olivia returned to the UK and had a chance to explain what happened, pregnancy theories started circulating online and fans convinced themselves that was why she had to leave the series. But Olivia has finally had a chance to put those rumours to bed.

"Obviously there's loads swirling around on the internet... 'Olivia Attwood pregnant' was trending on Twitter. It's not that, I can assure you", Olivia told Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning.

"It's actually not that exciting when it boils down. I was pulled out on my first day in main camp routine medical checks... so I had my blood taken. Basically the results came back that my iron was low, that I was anaemic, that my potassium was really low, my sodium was low - basically all the markers that you would look for were low.

"So, they consulted with a doctor outside of camp and they said that I would need to come into A&E."

In a separate interview with Mail on Sunday, Olivia insisted that her second set of blood tests at A&E returned fine, and she was given the all-clear.

But unfortunately, ITV weren't 'willing to authorise my return and therefore I wasn’t insured', leaving her with no choice but to leave the series 'absolutely devastated.'

She recalled: "They said because of the results the show’s medical team got from my readings, they were not happy to sign me off to come back in, even though I had the clean bill of health from the hospital. If I went back into camp, they feared my levels might drop and it could be detrimental to my health and wellbeing."

Alongside the pregnancy rumours, Olivia was flooded with 'misogynistic' comments from viewers who assumed Olivia left the show because she couldn't cope with jungle life.

"There is an underlying misogynistic feel to the rhetoric. They're saying, 'I bet she fainted' or 'I bet she was scared of sleeping outside' or that 'she didn't fancy it because it was raining'.

"The reason it was so frustrating is because I am the complete opposite of that – and to make it more irritating, people could see on the show that I was absolutely loving it."

Before her time on I'm A Celebrity came to an end, Olivia did get to experience some thrills, including the classic 10,000ft skydive that launches every season.

After landing back on the ground, Olivia was ecstatic, telling cameras: "Oh my god I'm crying, that's the most amazing thing I've ever done, ever. That is incredible. Top 10 experience of my life. Just amazing."

Once that was over, Olivia did get to take part in one trial, alongside Chris Moyles, Boy George, and Scarlette Douglas to earn some stars for their new campmates, but she was booted from the show just hours later.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
