Kris Jenner explains how she came up with all of her kids' names

Kris Jenner explains how she came up with all of her kids' names

How did she ever come up with such interesting names?

Picking a baby's name is no easy task; there's a lot of pressure on the parents to make sure they get it right. And that responsibility is even greater when it's the child of a celebrity couple we're talking about.

So when Kris Jenner was settling down and starting a family, she knew that simplicity was key:

The media mogul has six children, two of which - Kendall and Kylie - she shares with Caitlyn Jenner, and four - Kourtney, Khloe, Kim and Robert - who she had with lawyer Robert Kardashian.

Now, on the face of, one might conclude that there was perhaps a lack of imagination going on here. But oh no.

Kris explained once that she had been planning her children's names long before any of them ever came into the world.

Delving into the intricacies of the naming process, Kris said: "I knew my kids' names before they were born.

"I loved the name Courtney. And then I thought it would be really interesting to put a K on it, so that was easy.

"And then 'Kim'. Christmas is my favourite day of the year and I love the name Noel, so that was going to be maybe her name, but then it didn't start with a 'K', and Koel sounded really weird. So it was Kimberly Noel.

"And then Chloe. I loved Chloe the designer. And then I tried Chloe with a 'K', and that was really good too."

The 67-year-old went on: "Kendall was going to be Kennedy, or Cameron with a 'K'. And then Kylie. Kylie, I mean, at some point, you just run out of key names. I mean, truly.

"And Robert is Robert George Kardashian. No, sorry, sorry, Robert Arthur Kardashian. I didn't even know my child's name. This is so confusing."

But if you think Kris kicked off this fascinating tradition, think again.

It actually started with her mum, Mary Jo Campbell, who named her two daughters Kristen and Karen.

Kris' sister did the same with her kids, naming them Kourtni, Kara, and Krista.

However, Kris' own children don't appear to be keen on keeping up with the K them, with Khloe calling her daughter True, and Kim going with North, Psalm, Saint, and Chicago.

Kris has always been close to her kids, and super proud of all their achievements.

Not long ago, she praised Kim for being a 'superwoman' for being incredibly determined and going after everything she wants in life.

In an emotional new clip from The Kardashians' season two finale, the momager gushes about Kim's strength and ability to balance her career and home life.

Sitting down for lunch in Paris, Kris shared her admiration for her daughter: "Well, I think like being here this week, it makes me realise how proud I am of all of them.

"But to just understand and realise how Kim has learned how to like it makes me want to cry, she finds a balance somehow that works for her. It might not be a balance for you, or maybe she's a mom. She's a superstar. She's Superwoman."
