Khloe Kardashian recently underwent a procedure to have a tumour removed from her face

Khloe opened up about the tumour scare on Instagram

Khloe Kardashian has shared that she recently underwent a procedure after doctors discovered a tumour on her face.

The reality star opened up about the experience on her Instagram Story, after fans started to ask questions about the bandage on her face in recent photos.

Khloe, 38, admitted that, at first she thought the small lump on her skin was nothing more than a harmless spot - but when it didn't budge for months, she realised something was wrong.

Sharing some recent photos of herself with the band aid on her cheek, she wrote: "I have seen numerous stories going around about the ever-evolving bandage on my face, with some of you wondering why I've been wearing one for the past few weeks."

The mum-of-two then shared a close-up of the small lump she had found on her face, saying: "After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realising it was not budging."

Khloe then explained that she got checked out by two different dermatologists, who both said that 'what they were seeing was incredibly rare for someone my age'.

After getting a biopsy, Khloe was told she had to undergo an 'immediate operation to remove a tumour from [her] face.'

She wrote: "I called none other than Dr Garth Fischer, a dear friend of my family's and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills who I knew would take incredible care of my face.

"I'm grateful to share that Dr Fischer was able to get everything - all my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process.

"So, here we are... you'll continue to see my bandages and when I'm allowed, you'll probably see a scar (and an indention in my cheek from the tumour being removed), but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I'm making these face bandages look."

Khloe also added that she had decided to share the story on her platform so she could 'remind everyone to get checked, and frequently.'

The Kardashians star explained that she's been especially wary of unusual lumps and bumps ever since doctors discovered a melanoma on her back when she was just 19 years old.

"I am pre-composed to melanomas," she said. "Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time.

"I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day religiously, so no one is exempt from these things."
