Jennifer Aniston has issued a response to all the people hits who compliment her age.

The Friends star sat down with British Vogue on Wednesday (7 June) and argued that one particular phrase, which is meant to be some kind of accolade to aspire toward, is actually somewhat insulting.

During their discussion, the interviewer brings up the commonly used phrase 'You look great for your age' and suggested an alternative compliment that doesn't involve a reference to age in the slightest.

The interviewer proposed that people should actually say: "You look great - period."

"It drives me bananas, I can’t stand it," the Murder Mystery star revealed.

"That’s a habit of society that we have these markers like, 'Well, you’re at that stage, so for your age…' I don’t even understand what it means."

"I’m in better shape than I was in my 20s," she continued.

"I feel better in mind, body, and spirit. It’s all 100 percent better."

Aniston revealed that the phrase drives her 'bananas'.

Elsewhere in the interview, the actor also opened up about her fitness routine and how it has changed over the years.

"It used to be pounding, pounding, pounding. You had to get 45 minutes to an hour of cardio; otherwise, you weren’t getting a workout," she said.

"Not only do you stress your body, you burn out – who wants to do that at all?"

She then went on to discuss how she is now considers her wellness and longevity, noting: "My family lives a long time, especially my dad’s side – I want to be thriving; I don’t want to just be alive."

She then told the publication that she has found a 'new balance' by using Pvolve, who specialise in 'functional fitness'.

"It’s just good on my body; it’s good to my body." Aniston said.

"And I feel like I’ve done something really good for myself."

Earlier this month, the star was praised by fans for not hiding her grey hair in a recent Instagram video.

One Instagram user wrote: "Well done for allowing grey to come through — refreshing."

While another admirer concurred: "So nice to see. And she's obviously still gorgeous."

"Absolutely love the colour and style," one fan wrote, "So cute!"
