Jamie Laing told Sophie Habboo he'd wait a year to divorce her in pre-wedding row

Jamie Laing told Sophie Habboo he'd wait a year to divorce her in pre-wedding row

Laing claimed a year of marriage would be 'alright'

Most engaged couples love to think about the rest of their lives together, but for Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, it's all about that first year.

The reality TV star and presenter has made himself known as a famous fiancé thanks to his podcast Nearlyweds, which he hosts with his partner, Sophie Habboo.

The couple racked up thousands of listeners on the countdown to their big day, and after finally tying the knot in London last month, they decided to hold a second ceremony in Spain last weekend.

Jamie and Sophie continued to reveal insights into their relationship right up until their sunny ceremony abroad, and a podcast teaser shared just one day before the event revealed how Jamie had warned that he'd call it quits with Sophie after a year of marriage.

Sophie shared her now-husband's comments as they spoke about how their attitudes have changed since their official wedding, with Sophie agreeing that she's now 'content' while Jamie is 'nervous'.

Jamie admitted that he's now the 'stressed one', while his partner joked that it must be because he's 'so upset' that he married her.

"You're like 'f**k, I'm locked in'," she joked.

Sophie then attempted to provide evidence for her claim by bringing up the harsh comment made by Jamie after the pair got into an argument ahead of their impending nuptials.

She recalled: "Once he said, when we had a fight, he said 'ugh I've got to be married to you for at least a year'."

Why a year? Well, Jamie elaborated: "Yeah, it's true. If it was before a year, everyone would be like 'well that was short'. A year, then you're like 'that's alright'."

After all the excitement on the run-up to the wedding, we can only hope that Jamie won't decide to call it quits in 12 months' time - especially as he's already made it clear that he's ready to marry Sophie all over again.

After the pair tied the knot, he shared a snap from their wedding day and wrote: "I can’t believe this has happened, I want to do the magic all over again."

A number of other Made in Chelsea stars are thought to have been in attendance at the wedding, and fans have flooded the couple's Instagram with congratulations after the big day.

Sophie has also described the day as one she'll 'never forget', so I think it's safe to say they're in it for the long haul!
