Fans praise Ryan Gosling’s heartwarming tribute to wife Eva Mendes at Barbie premiere

Fans praise Ryan Gosling’s heartwarming tribute to wife Eva Mendes at Barbie premiere

Ken might be made for Barbie but Ryan Gosling continues to prove he was made for wife Eva Mendes with sweet gesture

The Barbie movie hasn't landed in cinemas yet and it's already the gift that keeps on giving.

Stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, who play Barbie and Ken, have been busy promoting the eagerly anticipated movie, which has already been hailed 'perfection' by critics.

Yesterday (July 9), the Barbie entire cast and crew walked the red carpet in Los Angeles to celebrate the film's premiere - but it was Gosling who stole the show.

The actor, who was 'born to play Ken', wore an appropriately pink Gucci suit, alongside a chain necklace with the letter E hanging from it.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the necklace charm, which was written in the Barbie-type text and would usually be a 'B' for Barbie, was actually an 'E' for his wife, Eva Mendes.

Could this man actually get any sweeter?

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Ryan Gosling rocking not just a sexy little chain but a sexy little chain with a Barbie font E for EVA on it I’m gonna throw myself off a cliff.

"Ken was only made for Barbie and Ryan was only made for Eva I’m gonna die I love him her them both god."

While another added: "How cute wearing a necklace with an E for Eva. He really is making sure his wife feels secure."

Gosling and Mendes have been together for 12 years, with news of their relationship becoming public shortly after they appeared in The Place Beyond the Pines together - although Mendez has appeared to confirm that they were together prior to shooting the film.

They share two daughters together, with Gosling once saying that he realised 'that he didn't want to have kids without her'.

In an interview with GQ ahead of the release of Barbie, Gosling said: “When you asked me about Eva and kids, I think I said, I didn’t think about kids until she told me she was pregnant. That’s not really true.

"I didn’t want to overshare, but now I also don’t want to misrepresent. I mean, it’s true that I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her.”

He continued: “And there were moments on The Place Beyond the Pines where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn’t really want it to be pretend anymore.

"I realized that this would be a life I would be really lucky to have.”
