Chris Pratt faces backlash over Mother's Day message to wife Katherine Schwarzenegger

Some fans have criticised Pratt for not mentioning his ex-wife.

Chris Pratt has faced a wee bit of backlash for not mentioning his ex during his Mother's Day message to current wife Katherine Schwarzenegger.

The pair, who got married in 2019, share daughters Lyla, two, and Eloise, 11 months, together.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star also shares son Jack, 10, with ex-wife Anna Faris, and some people aren't happy as to why Pratt didn't give her a shoutout in his recent Mother's Day message.

On May 14, Pratt posted a photo of himself alongside Schwarzenegger, mother-in-law Maria Shriver and mum Kathy Pratt, on Insta.

Some people are confused why Pratt didn't give his ex a shoutout in his recent Mother's Day message.

"Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there," Pratt wrote in the caption.

"Especially grateful today for Katherine. You're a wonderful partner. You've provided me such a blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you and you're the best step mama to Jack.

"And to my mom, Kathy, you raised us with such love and light and laughter— so grateful for you today and always.

"And to Maria, the best Mama G, I’m lucky to have you as a mother-in-law.

"And to all of the other moms in my life, I’m so grateful for all you do - thank you so much. Hope you feel celebrated today."

Despite giving a special mention to 'all of the other moms in my life', some were disappointed as to why he did not mention Faris.

"That was very nice recognition of the mothers in your life, wife, mom, mom in law," one user wrote.

"However it would not have killed you to acknowledge the mother of your first child by nam [sic], like really!"

Another commented: "I literally wished my ex's wife a happy mother's day today.

"Like why wouldn't you if you have kids in a blended family?"

Meanwhile, others were quick to point out how Pratt did write that he acknowledged the other mothers in his life.

One person wrote: "All of those people making comments about Chris's ex wife, she never made a father's day post about him after they broke up either.

"Double standards and making him a villain over nothing. If it's your ex partner you shouldn't have to include them in anything unless you see fit. I'd do the same."

Another added: "He literally said happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the mothers out there, that includes his ex, everyone calm down."
