Britney Spears sparks concern after uploading bizarre clip using an Australian accent
Britney Spears posted a slightly chaotic video on Instagram, but seemed to have a bit of an Australian twang to her voice
Fans are a little bit concerned about Britney Spears after she posted a video in which she seemed to be speaking with an Australian accent, before urging people ‘not to call the cops’ if she deletes her social media account. Check it out for yourself:
Britney was sharing a short video with her fans showing off a few dresses that she’d been sent and one she'd made herself, but a lot of people picked up on the fact that she seemed to have a bit of an unusual twang to her accent, almost as if she was putting on an Aussie accent.
But why would she do that? Who knows.

The 41-year-old then confused – and slightly worried – fans further by stopping dancing around during the typically energetic video to ask fans not to get in touch with the authorities if she ever decides to get rid of her account on IG.
Speaking directly to her viewers, Britney said: “So, guys, I just want you to know, if I shutdown my Instagram do not call the cops.”
What is everyone supposed to make of that?
Even stranger, she then ran across the screen twice shouting: "Never be a roller coaster!"
If it was anyone else, it might not seem that bizarre, but Britney has been the subject of welfare concerns in the past after deleting her various social media accounts.
Maybe she just means to tell everyone that they needn’t worry if she decides to take a break, and that they shouldn’t assume that something is wrong if she wants to be off social media.
However, she isn’t going to do that immediately, it would seem.
Responding to reports that she might be about to bin Instagram off, she said that despite the fact ‘there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well’ she isn’t going to be stepping away.
In the video itself, she was actually just talking about how she’s been designing some clothes for herself, albeit in a slightly unusual accent.
Britney said: “Ok, great news. Ok, so last week guys I made a dress. I was really proud. [It had] a diamond panel, a zip in the back [and] a girlfriend helped me sew it.”
Then, producing a dress that she ‘didn’t have to make [herself]’ she continued: “I can't believe it. I am just saying! Hey now, so proud! I didn't even have to make it myself,
“I can't believe it. I am just saying! Hey now, so proud! I didn't even have to make it myself.”
Many folks simply couldn’t get past the accent, though.
One wrote: “Why Britney Spears sound Australian in her last insta post?” while another commented: “Why is Britney Spears talking in an Australian accent?”
“Why does Britney now have a weird, Australian twist when she speaks?” a third asked.
Well, maybe she’s just putting it on. Or maybe she’s been hanging out with an Australian.
Or perhaps she’s just been abducted by green space men who have alerted her accent by performing a series of invasive tests to determine whether humanity is worth studying.
That said, maybe it just doesn’t matter that much.
