Now, if you’re a fan of the 20-year-old singer, you’ll know that she headlined the festival, which makes the stunt even more impressive.
She revealed she’d used a body double to Apple Music’s Matt Wilkinson, who asked her if she’d ever gone undercover.
The singer said she had at Coachella, and she was able to do it thanks to her old clothes, a wig with buns and one of her willing backup dancers.
This is all the more impressive when you bear in mind that Eilish was the youngest person to ever headline the festival in April of this year.
She said: “At Coachella, I actually did it because the beginning of Coachella, I had a body double, one of my dancers that was one of my dancers for the show.
“I dressed her up in a show look that I had worn before. We got a black wig and we put buns in it and we gave her a mask and sunglasses and she wore my shoes and my socks.
“I put her up at the back of the stage and she stood there while the lights went on and everybody thought it was me. And nobody ever knew it wasn’t me, literally nobody knew. And while she’s up there, I put on a big black coat and a traffic vest and a hood and just glasses.”
This revelation comes a day before Billie is once again set to make history as the youngest-ever Glastonbury headliner tomorrow (June 24).
She also opened up about the upcoming historic performance in the interview.
Eilish said: “To headline Glastonbury, it’s unbelievable. I feel like Glastonbury is everyone who has been lucky enough to go to music festivals, the world over, everyone says the same thing, which is there’s nothing like Glastonbury.
“Everything wishes it was Glastonbury. So yeah, just a tremendous honour. Again, it’s the company that you’re in too. The fact that we’re there with McCartney and Kendrick and everybody down the lineup too, I’m a huge fan of so many artists playing each day. It’s so exciting.”
It's not known what Eilish's set list will look like, but given the acclaim 'Happier than Ever' had last year, we think it's a strong bet that it will make the cut!
