Ashley Cain says he's giving up Christmas following death of his daughter

Ashley shared a throwback video from Christmas with his daughter

Ashley Cain has said that he's given up Christmas following the devastating loss of his daughter Azaylia, who passed away in 2021.

Ashley, 32, took to social media to share a clip of Azaylia's 'first conversation' which he said was 'the best Christmas present ever'.

In the clip, the little one can be heard 'chatting' away while Ashley says 'excuse moi' to his daughter.

"Throwback to the best Christmas present ever - our first conversation," he wrote in the caption.

"Giving up my Christmas’s going forward is ok, because the memories from this one will last me a lifetime.

"Azaylia - Your life will continue to change the world my angel."

Azaylia's mum and Ashley's ex partner Safiyya Vorajee commented on the clip, adding: "My beautiful baby I love you so much Azaylia the best Christmas I will ever have was with you princess."

Azaylia passed away in April 2021 after battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer called acute myeloid leukaemia.

After she passed, Ashley and Safiyya launched the Azaylia Foundation in August 2021 with the funds they raised for lifesaving treatment in Singapore that their daughter was not able to receive.

Safiyya and Ashley work together through the foundation to help individual child cancer patients and to bring equipment to the UK which is not readily available on the NHS.

This means families will no longer have to raise large amounts of money for their child to have specialist treatment.

The pair have both opened up on the precious moments they spent with their daughter before her death.

Ashley told Tyla: “Even though these are the toughest periods of our lives, they’re also the most beautiful times of our lives.

“The eight months I had with my daughter were the best eight months I’ve ever had, and will ever have going forward in the future.”

Speaking about the foundation, he added: “We’re a foundation in our infancy, but we’re doing everything we possibly can to make this as big and as powerful and help as many people as possible.

“We’ve invested so much time, so much thought process, so much heart into it that I really hope and I really believe that The Azaylia Foundation can make a difference in this world."
