Aaron Chalmers calls out trolls who shamed him for kissing baby son on the lips

The Geordie Shore star defended himself after being hit with criticism

Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers has criticised trolls who shamed him for kissing his baby on the lips in a picture shared online.

I don't have kids myself, but it's no secret that parents get close with their babies. It's not just changing nappies and wiping bums, it's also sharing food, wiping up drool and cleaning all manner of mystery substances off sticky hands.

So, while there are some hands-on moments that parents might choose to avoid if they could, kissing your child is not one of them.

Chalmers hit back at those who criticised his image.

Chalmers made that clear when when he took to Instagram to share a snap of him kissing his newborn son, Oakley, following his arrival in August 2022.

The Geordie Shore star shares Oakley with Talia Oatway, with who he also shares Romeo, two, and Maddox, 15 months.

Chalmers regularly shares images of himself and his children hanging out, but after posting the image of him kissing Oakley, Chalmers became the subject of online trolling.

He recently hit back at those who posted hurtful things during a chat on Steven Sully's podcast, saying: "There must be some sad people, sad, sad people, that must have such sad lives to want to go on social media and abuse.

"You must be sad. Like, you must have a sad life. You must have nothing else in your life than to try and bring others down. Because to me...why?"

Chalmers welcomed his son in August 2022.

"I had a picture of my newborn, my newborn baby, and I was kissing him. He’s f**king my son, I made him, he’s mine," Chalmers continued.

"[And people said] ‘You shouldn’t be kissing the baby on the lips’ and I thought ‘ah, f**k off, man'."

Chalmers' defensive comments came after Oakley was rushed to hospital shortly after his birth while struggling to breathe.

The reality TV star described his son as his 'little soldier', and said that while Oakley was in for a 'long road', 'every op he has makes him that little bit better'.

He added: "We’ve got this my little sunshine mummy and daddy and your brothers and sisters can wait to get you home."

A few months after Oakley's arrival, Chalmers and Oatway were reported to have split, with an insider telling The Sun: "Aaron and Talia have broken up for good. They have three kids together who are a priority for them but as a couple it just hasn’t been working.

“Talia and Aaron have been rowing and ultimately, they decided they couldn’t carry on."

Chalmers has continued to share images with his children following news of his split from Oatway.
