A model claims to have uncovered the secret to eternally youthful skin – but it definitely isn't for the faint of heart.

Mimi Boliviana has revealed that she adds a rather unusual ingredient to her skincare routine to give her a healthy, rejuvenated glow... and it's her own menstrual blood.

Although the routine has no scientific backing whatsoever, the Brazilian model claims to have hit the jackpot by using her period blood as a face mask.

Mimi, who boasts 358,000 followers on Instagram (@mimizinhaofficial), says she was introduced to the idea by other influencers and decided to give it a go.

After seeing the results for herself, she now claims it to be a ritual in her skin care regime, smearing it on her face with a brush a couple of times each monthly cycle.

Hey, don't knock it until you try it!

While the idea of brushing menstrual blood across the face might not sound particularly appealing, Mimi insisted that, as long as you have a healthy diet, you'll be able to keep tired, dreary skin at bay with the all natural face masks.

"It's good to stay young. Each time I do it, it looks like I have baby skin. I'm completely hydrated and rejuvenated," Mimi told NeedToKnow.online.

"I usually apply the mask a couple of times during the cycle, using a brush.

"I collect it through the collection cup and dilute it with a little filtered water.

“Contrary to what they think, the smell is not strong, it just has the odour of iron. As long as you have a healthy diet you're fine."

Like we said, there is no scientific evidence to suggest the use of menstrual blood will keep skin looking young, but if you're curious to test it out for yourself, be our guest!

Not too long ago, Mimi made headlines when she dumped her ex-boyfriend when he told her to dump her favourite teddy bear.

The plush toy, named Urzo, often pops up on her Instagram account, where she has more than 384,000 followers.

Meanwhile, Mimi's two million TikTok followers regularly ask her about the teddy bear.

"I once had an ex-boyfriend who asked me to choose between him and teddy bear. I chose teddy bear," she revealed.

Now happily married, Mimi's husband doesn't mind that they share the bed with Urso – though we can't help but wonder how he feels about her skincare routine...
