We've Been Using Hyaluronic Acid Wrong This Whole Time

How did we not know this?

It turns out we've been using hyaluronic acid wrong this whole time and our minds are blown.

TikTok creator Rocio Soria had viewers in awe after explaining the one little change that can revamp your entire skincare routine.

Check out the genius tip here:

In recent years, hyaluronic acid has become a staple product in most people's skincare collections, with benefits including moisturising, healing wounds, relieving dry eye symptoms, and promoting a healthy glow for all skin-types.

Speaking to followers, Rocio explained that hyaluronic acid is a must-have for anyone with dry skin - and if you disagree, you might be using it wrong!

She said: "If you have dry, flaky, dehydrated skin, you have to, have to, have to use hyaluronic acid. And if you have and it didn't work, you probably used it wrong."

After learning where they had gone wrong, TikTok viewers were shook, and couldn't thank Rocio enough for her words of wisdom.

This one change could clear up your entire skin completely. (

Some people with dry skin may have gone off hyaluronic acid after finding that it dried out their skin even further, but if you apply it right, you'll be left feeling fresh and moisturised.

One follower commented: "I needed this!!."

A second gushed: "oh my god I've been using it wrong this while time!!! THANK YOU."

"THANK YOU … ITS LIKE YOU KNEW I was in search of a savior for my dry skin. tysm", wrote a third.

Another viewer added: "Girl your the REAL MVP for sharing this tip! What a difference!!!"

Meanwhile one commented: "I learned more from this video then my whole semester in college."

Us too, girl!

Confirming the tip to Tyla, Ada Ooi, founder of 001 Skincare said: "When added to skincare products, hyaluronic acid acts like a water magnet, it attracts water molecules from the product and locks them into the skin.

Hyaluronic Acid is our new favourite product all over again. (

"It can hold a massive amount of water weight, thus maximising and elongating the hydrating effect of the product."

She continued: "Most formulations with hyaluronic acid would also include a large amount of 'aqua' in them to achieve the maximum effect when applied on the skin. However, if the concentration of Hyaluronic acid is too high, while it draws water in, it can also draw water from the deeper levels of the skin, which can then dry it out more.

"I always recommend using a toner/mist/essence to damp the skin and use a moisturiser over the top of a hyaluronic serum to create a natural barrier against moisture loss, by helping to seal it into the skin."

TikTok has been shaking up our entire beauty routine lately, and we're learning more about skincare and makeup than ever.

Earlier this week we told you about one beauty hack that's guaranteed to give you a fantastically fresh face - and it involves green foundation. Yes, you read that right. We were shocked too!
