A Zoo Will Now Let You Name A Rat After Your Ex For Valentine's Day

What a way to mark the occasion.

Valentine's Day is a time of love and romance for many, but for the rest of us, it's a day where the sight of one more loved-up couple is enough to make us nauseous.

For the bitter singles among us, it's hard to know what to do with ourselves, but now we think we've found just the event.

If you have a major arse of an ex, this Valentine's Day you can name your very own rat after them.

That's right, San Antonio Zoo in Texas, US, is offering you the chance to buy a rat that reminds you of your ex and name it and we are majorly LOLing.

So if your grim ex partner made you feel small or they ran off with another person, now is the time to take your revenge.

Once you've selected to buy a 'love rat' online here for $25 (£19.22), you then get the chance to name it after your not-so-special someone after checkout.

You could also go one step further and head to the zoo on 14th February to watch it get feed to a reptile - errr, if that's your kind of thing.

Alternatively, you need not move off your sofa, simply tune in to the zoo's Facebook page on 14th to watch to see if your rat is chosen for the feeding. Yeah, count us out on that one.

If you don't want to watch that (fair enough, it does sound slightly grim) you will receive a certificate of proof of your named rat which you can post to Instagram stories - maybe that's one just for close friends who'll find your V-Day gift to yourself hilarious.

If you are loved up though this February but your bestie is feeling a bit down in the dumps, it would also make the perfect present for Galentine's Day.

And with the money going straight back into the non-profit zoo - it's going to a good cause too.

Buying a scorned woman a love rat for G-Day? Now that's a seriously good pal.
