This Morning Viewers Horrified As They Hear Screaming Pigs During Segment On Cull

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke to pig farmers Vicky Scott and Kate Moore - but fans were horrified at what they heard.

This Morning viewers couldn't believe their ears today when they watched an interview with two workers at a pig farm, only to hear the sound of "screaming pigs" in the background.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke to pig farmer sisters, Vicky Scott and Kate Moore, on the ITV show on Thursday to discuss the impact of Brexit on the industry, following the news that pigs would need to be 'culled' due to lack of workers.

But viewers were distracted by the noise of pigs wailing in the background as they spoke.

Watch a clip for yourself:

Vicky told Holly and Phil that the government "need to relax the immigration visas".

But even she was stopped in her tracks by the screaming as she made her point, acknowledging that it was "very noisy", having to shout over it and pausing several times as a result.

"Ahhhh love hearing distressed and overcrowded pigs in the pens waiting to be slaughtered on the telly, cheers #thismorning," said one viewer after watching the interview.

While another said: "#ThisMorning...was that really necessary to make us listen to those poor screaming pigs... just awful!"

"Wasn’t it just so tasteless!," said somebody else. "Totally distressing".

The interview comes after it was reported that farmers might have to kill thousands of pigs on their farms due to lack of staff at processing plants.

On Brexit, and how it was affecting farmers, Phil said: “51 percent of the country voted for Brexit.

“We have got the thing now... so skilled butchers... they have gone home. That was part of the whole Brexit thing, the fact that we wanted to take the country back.”

"This is one of the by-products of it. Skilled labour has now left the country.

“Exacerbated by COVID-19, what do you want him [Boris Johnson] to do?”

Vicky responded that we need "action now" and that restrictions needed to be applied to imports.
