Channel 5 viewers viewers were left feeling 'ill' after watching shocking scenes in The Teacher.
The provocative new drama is about a teacher, played by Sheridan Smith, who is accused of sleeping with one of her students after running into him at a nightclub.

The four-part psychological thriller premiered on Monday and the first episode follows teacher Jenna celebrating a promotion with a night out at a club, where she runs into one of her 15-year-old pupils Kyle (Samuel Bottomley).
Jenna’s colleague Pauline (Cecilia Noble) is also at the club and sees some of the mess unfold.
After watching the incriminating scene, viewers rushed to social media to express how uncomfortable they felt watching Jenna and Kyle.
One viewer wrote: “That club scene made me feel ill just looking at it #TheTeacher", while another said: "Anyone else watching behind their hands.. #theteacher”.
Another Twitter user said: “Whatever happens to her from now is her mess, cause why is she flirting with a child. If I’m in a club and a 15-year-old comes there, I’m out #TheTeacher.”
Someone else tweeted: “That club scene made me feel ill just looking at it icl #TheTeacher.”
Some viewers also called out Jenna for inappropriate behaviour earlier in the episode in the classroom.
“How does she get away with eyeing up her student like a piece of rump steak? #TheTeacher,” said on viewer.
While someone else said: “The other teachers have seen her actions but haven't raised it with her. Safeguarding, surely #TheTeacher.”
The series also stars Sharon Rooney from My Mad Fat Diary, former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and Black Mirror actor Cecilia Noble.
The Teacher airs nightly on Channel 5 at 9pm from Monday 31st January to Thursday 4th February.
