Netflix and the Duffer brothers treated fans to an unexpected surprise this Friday when they released the first eight minutes of the new season of Stranger Things, set to launch on 27th May.

The new season begins with an eerie flashback to 8th September 1979, as Dr Brenner checks up on the children being held in the Hawkins National Laboratory, and eventually butting heads with a young Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
Stranger Things fans have been waiting for a fourth volume of the addictive sci-fi series since 2019. But after overcoming a six-month filming hiatus due to the covid pandemic, the cast and crew successfully wrapped on their most ambitious season so far, and are ready to share it with the world.

Teasing what fans can look forward to as soon as next week, the Netflix synopsis for the upcoming season reads:" It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins.
"Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier.
"In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down."

Over 5 hours longer than any previous season, Stranger Things supersized season four launches with Volume I on 27th May, including episodes 401-407.
Fans will then have to wait a little bit longer for Volume II's epic conclusion with episodes 408 and 409, which will be released on 1st July.
