Former Islanders Shaughna And Jack Reveal What Really Happens When The Islanders Get A Text

The Love Island alums have revealed a shocking detail about what really happens when the Islanders get a text

We thought we knew everything there is to know about Love Island, however two former stars – Shaughna Phillips and Jack Fincham – have revealed what really happens when Islanders get a text.

The two former Islanders shared memories about filming their respective series when the topic of the infamous texts came up.

Jack, who took part in the 2018 series, said he remembers being told to 'sit down on the grass' and taking this as a sign an Islander was about to receive a text.

Shaughna, who was a contestant in the 2020 winter series, agreed and recalled: "Or they used to walk past you and drop your phone and you're like 'something's going off'."

Jack added: "Yeah, like producers would come past you and you'd be sitting down just jamming by the pool and all of a sudden they just drop the phone next to you."

"And you start prepping."

The pair then made a joke about trying to look their best when preparing for a text.

The text messages are a key part of the Love Island process, updating the Islanders about parties, challenges, the dreaded re-couplings or new arrivals.

In Wednesday's (22 June) episode, the Islanders were seen getting dressed up for the evening when Ekin-Su received a text message which reads: Girls, it’s time to get glam as tonight you’ll be welcoming a new boy into the Villa.”

Jack Fincham shared his experience of getting a text in the villa.

When the girls went outside, new bombshell Charlie was standing in the garden waiting for them to arrive.

The 28-year-old real estate developer from London said he plans to bring 'good vibes' to the villa and described himself as a 'relaxed' person.

Ekin-Su, who is currently coupled up with Jay, instantly showed interest in the new arrival and was quick to point out that at 27 they are around the same age.

It seems she may be in luck because Charlie expressed an interest in the actor before heading to the villa, telling ITV he is most interested in Ekin-Su, Paige and Tasha.

The girls heard about Charlie's entrance via text.

He added: "But I’m keeping an open mind until I meet them. I might get on with someone I didn’t fancy before. I’m very much on the personality side of things and whether you vibe with someone. Ekin-Su is more towards my classic type. Paige seems like a very, very nice girl. Tasha seems like good fun as well. I find her quite intriguing - I want to find out more about her."

Tyla has contacted ITV for comment.
