Good Morning Britain viewers were left shocked on Wednesday morning, when presenters Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway quizzed Scarlett Moffatt on her driving capabilities.

Gogglebox star Scarlett, 31, appeared on the breakfast show to discuss new series, Pilgrimage, but towards the end of the chat, the presenters decided to quiz her on her upcoming driving test.

Explaining she'd failed her test 13 times - and was due to sit her 14th theory test - viewers were shocked when Richard asked Scarlett why she had failed so many times. Scarlett looked totally taken aback by the question, but had a quick-witted response for Richard.

People were not impressed online, with one viewer writing: “I'm no Scarlett Moffatt fan BUT they are actively taking the p*** out of her on national TV for failing her driving test 13 times... How about the other people who have failed, hardly filling them with confidence!!!”

A second added: "Richard Madeley not everyone can pass their driving tests with ease, what’s Scarlett doing wrong! Wow could be a nerves, anything."

"Go Scarlett don’t let anyone get you down. No one has a right to tell you what to do or criticise you. You are a lovely lady," said a third.

Following Richard's question, the presenters then asked Scarlett a number of questions ahead of her test.

Kate asked: “What speed can you go up to where there is a 30 mph speed limit?”

And while Scarlett looked slightly confused over the question, giggling could be heard in the background as Richard admitted: "That was a hard one!"

The TV star eventually answered the questions correctly, however, after the pair asked her what a number of different road signs meant.
