People Are Calling For Mrs Claus To 'Get A Girlfriend' Following Gay Santa Advert Backlash

People Are Calling For Mrs Claus To 'Get A Girlfriend' Following Gay Santa Advert Backlash

Can Mrs Claus get some love too?

A Christmas advert celebrating the 50th anniversary of Norway decriminalising homosexuality went viral earlier this week for depicting a gay Father Chritstmas.

Norwegian postal service Posten released the advert showing Santa kissing a man, but people are now asking that Mrs Claus gets a girlfriend too.

Watch the advert below:

When Harry Met Santa is a four-minute-long advert showing the love story between Harry and Santa who first meet when Harry wonders down the stairs and sees Santa dropping off his presents.

They meet again over the following years as they fall head over heels for each other until one year Harry sends Father Christmas a love letter through Posten, obviously. The letter reads, "Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is you".

Finally, the couple reunite and share a kiss without any need for mistletoe.

But people have a slight problem with this problem with the advert... where is Mrs Claus with her girlfriend???

One person took to Twitter to demand: "Get Mrs claus a girlfriend STAT".

"Can we also have Mrs Claus getting a girlfriend advert please", asked someone else.

Another Twitter user explained the set-up: "Mrs Claus is with her girlfriend whilst Mr Claus is with his boyfriend".

There were even some who were happy to take up the position.

One Twitter user volunteered themselves: "This is my formal application to be Mrs Claus’ girlfriend if she’s single now".

This comes after the advert received some public backlash with people not recognising why Santa should be depicted as attracted to men.

However, plenty of people have love the advert, especially after it went viral on TikTok with it reaching over 100,000 likes.

"I don't even care about the translation I ship it. I need more", one person commented.

Another viewer said: "It's 2021. Santa can be bi and poly. Why not?".

"Did- did Santa just have a gay panic moment?" a third joked.
