Midnight Mass Fans Say They Will 'Never Sleep Again' After Watching Netflix Horror Series

Midnight Mass Fans Say They Will 'Never Sleep Again' After Watching Netflix Horror Series

Viewers are seriously freaked out after watching the spooky new Netflix drama Midnight Mass from the creators of The Haunting Of Hill House.

With spooky season just around the corner, horror fans have started to binge Netflix's latest offering, Midnight Mass - and it's keeping viewers up all night.

Set in an isolated island community of Crockett Island, the residents begin to experience unsettling, supernatural events after the arrival of a mysterious priest with a dark secret, played by Hamish Linklater.

We meet the island’s residents as a disgraced young man named Riley (played by Zach Gilford) returns home after serving time in prison.

All seven episodes were written or co-written, directed and executive produced by Mike Flanagan, and the series also deals with questions around Catholicism as lots of strange and miraculous events unfold.

And it seems all the frightening scenes have stopped viewers from being able to sleep.

One fan said: "I can't sleep at all bcs of binge watching Midnight Mass. Dang this show is good ......."

While a second viewer took to Twitter to discuss all the questions she had from watching the series. "So #MidnightMass absolutely destroyed me. I can't stop crying OR thinking about the philosophy of death and how that informs life. I'll never sleep now," she wrote.

And a third person joked that the show has even changed their sleeping pattern – and they want compensation. "I can’t believe we’re only three episodes into #MidnightMass, and I’m ALREADY RELYING ON MY DINOSAUR STRING LIGHTS TO SLEEP. I am holding Mike Flanagan PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ELECTRICITY BILL."

The good reviews kept pouring in, with one fan writing: "So sad I can't watch my sixth episode in two days of #MidnightMass because the themes aren't meditation or sleep friendly."

One person simply tweeted: "I can’t sleep bc of Midnight Mass."

Flanagan is the creator behind The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

In fact, the entire team behind the Haunting series’ are back, including executive producer Jeff Howard and producer Adam Fasullo.

We know what we're bingeing next (with the lights on of course).

Midnight Mass is available to stream on Netflix now.
