People Think Paige Should Have Left The Love Island Villa Last Night

After Jacques O'Neill made the shocking decision to leave the villa in scenes that aired on Tuesday (12 July), Love Island fans are now suggesting that Paige Thorne should have also exited the show. Watch below.

The former professional rugby player told his fellow Islanders he was leaving hours after the arrival of 2018 Love Island bombshell Adam Collard.

Adam immediately showed an interest in Paige and pulled her for a chat moments after entering the villa.

His arrival sent shockwaves through the villa while Jacques was attempting to fix his relationship with the 24-year-old paramedic from Swansea after admitting to kissing Casa Amor newbie Cheyanne Kerr.

Just like in previous Love Island series, when an Islander quits the show, the question about whether the person they were coupled up with should also exit has taken over social media.

Murad Merali tweeted his response to Paige's reaction after Jacques announced his departure. "Paige if you think Jacques is most genuine then leave with him? Doing up lecture for no reason," he said.

One viewer shared a meme and quoted former Islander Theo Campbell who famously called out Tyla Carr for not leaving when Jonny Mitchell was voted off the show in series three.

"If Paige really likes Jacques she should leave with him," the Love Island fan tweeted.

While another Twitter user speculated: "I feel like Jacques only decided to leave because he thought that Paige would follow him".

Other Twitter critics had similar takes, with one person sharing: "Paige if Jacques was really your true love, leave with him then… pack your suitcase bestie".

While someone else shared the Tiffany 'New York' Pollard meme of the reality star sat on a bed. "So why didn’t Paige leave the villa with Jacques what's the point of her staying?" they said.

A Love Island spokesperson said: "Jacques has made the decision to leave the villa. He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques."

Jacques spoke to Paige on the terrace about his feelings, explaining he was unable to be the best version of himself in the villa.

"You mean so much to me, you know that. I've been trying to put a brave face on but things are getting to me," he tearfully told Paige.

"Basically, like, I just wish I could finish my journey off with you in here, but I'm gonna go home today," he continued.

He added: "I still want you to enjoy your time in here, just do what you need to do and listen, I'll be waiting for you.

"Just do what you have to do, don't even think about me."

Paige replied: "Obviously I want you to be happy and it hurts me seeing you this way."
