Love Island Fans Spot Awkward Moment During Liam's Date With Afia

Love Island fans spotted a rather awkward moment during Liam Llewellyn and Afia Tonkmor's date during Thursday (9 June) evening's episode.

Liam headed off to meet both Afia and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, after the public voted to choose which boys would be having a double date with the two newcomers.

Liam was chosen for a date with both girls, and arrived to find both Afia and Ekin-Su sitting at two separate tables. He approached Ekin-Su first and said hello, before explaining he'd be back for their date soon.

He then headed over to Afia and introduced himself, but viewers found it awkward that Ekin-Su was sat just behind them.

One person tweeted: "Nah they couldn’t have separated the dates??? How are they both sat there #LoveIsland."

While another said: "Ok this double date but it's only Liam... Bit awkward."

And a third added: "Imagine how awkward it must be for the other girl when Liam was on a date with Afia and vice versa."

"The dates between Liam and the two girls feel sooo awkward to watch, whilst one is waiting for the other to finish," said a fourth.

Viewers also had a lot to say about Liam's 'phone voice' during the dates, too, with many claiming the 22-year-old was speaking softly.

One fan quickly created a photoshopped picture of Liam's face on Harry Styles' body from when the 'As It Was' singer read bedtime stories on CBeebies.

"Liam sounds like he should be reading me a bedtime story what is this sweet sickly voice," they wrote.

And another said: "Liam dropping his best bedtime - late at night - phone call - voice on these dates is killing me."

During the unusual double-date, Afia was first up and Liam was quick to compliment the new arrival saying: “I like your vibe, you’re just a laugh, a bubbly, outgoing girl and that’s exactly what I want.”

Afia asked: “Would you say I am your type?” 

Liam replied, smoothly: “You’re definitely my type, 100 percent.”

Ekin-Su was up next and the flirtation started almost immediately. "You’ve got really nice eyes, the colour of the sea, almost like you can kind of swim in it and get lost," she said.

Back at the villa and Ekin-Su said her top three boys were Davide, Andrew and Luca, while Afia was keen on Dami and Andrew, but did seem to have a connection with Ikenna, too.
