Love Island fans have been left speculating over Jay Younger's confusing intentions with Paige Thorne.

During Thursday evening's episode (24 June), the ITV2 dating show showed Jay having a very frank conversation with Paige,

The investment analyst revealed to Paige: "I wanted to just get to know you.

"I felt like you were the first person I was quite drawn to," Jay revealed.

"I don't know if you felt it, but I felt there was definitely something there. On my first day when I arrived, I felt like you were the first person I was quite drawn to," he explained.

Paige seemed to share the same sentiment at first, replying: “As soon as you came in, I thought I would love to get to know him," yet promptly added, "Then a week went by and you just weren't asked.”

Fans are noticing similarities between Jay and Paige's conversation and Jay and Amber.

Fans are noticing a few similarities between Jay's conversation with Paige and a previous conversation between him and Amber Beckford.

Similarly to how he talks about his first meeting with Paige, Jay also revealed that “I’ll never forget that,” when detailing the first time he encountered Amber entering the Love Island villa.

The conversation follows previous drama at the start of the same episode when the investment analyst told Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu that he wanted to take some time to get to know Paige a bit better.

Rugby player Jacques O’Neil, currently coupled up with Paige, gave Jay the green light to talk to her, allowing him to 'crack on' with her.

Jacques dubbed the situation as 'a test' for the couple's relationship.

Dozens of fans have taken to Twitter to speculate over the situation and Jay's suspicious movements in the villa.

One Twitter user conspired that Jay was taking a strategic stance: "Jay's attraction for Ekin-Su went down after the public vote and up for Paige. He playing Love Island like survival of the fittest."

Dozens of fans have taken to Twitter to speculate over the situation.

Another chimed in with: "Jay only had his eyes set on Ekin then suddenly after the recoupling he fancies Paige. Like she’s been there all this time and he’s only saying this now."

"Jacques and Jay treating Paige like some sort of Pokemon trading card without her even being involved in the conversation is really gross," pointed out a third.

Several others picked up on Jay and Jaques's conversation with one Twitter user writing: "What annoys me is Jay went to Ekin and Jacques before even talking to Paige to see if she’s interested in him at all. And Jacques gave his ‘blessing’ like it was his to give. I don’t like it. I don’t like any of it."

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9 pm on ITV2, and is sure to be yet another juicy episode!
