Laura Whitmore Responds To Claims She Humiliated Love Islander

Laura spoke out after Sunday's show.

Laura Whitmore has spoken out after criticism over Sunday evening's episode of Love Island: Aftersun.

During the ep, the latest islander to be dumped, Remi Lambert, joined Laura as well as other celebrity guests, to discuss his time in the villa.

But fans were left feeling gutted for Remi, after he was asked to perform a rap and struggled with the final line. You can watch a clip below:

During his appearance, Laura asked Remi if he could deliver 'an exclusive' rap, and viewers weren't impressed with the request, with one writing on Twitter: "Remi was fighting back tears on after sun and they asked that man to RAP."

While another said: "I feel so bad for remi he looks so down. Why tf did they ask him to rap when he’s so down."

And a third added: "Hope #LoveIsland supports Remi He looked broken on #Loveislandaftersun. Asking him to rap was done in bad faith and to humiliate. I thought @thewhitmore & crew were supposed to 'BE KIND'."

But Laura has since responded to the comments, explaining Remi was prepped beforehand.

"Remi is a rapper and asked in good faith in advance if he’d rap and prepare something which he did," she wrote.

"Live Telly is nerve wrecking, believe me, so maybe he was a bit nervous but he deserved to have his time. Also I want to make Remi & Afia happen!

People were gutted for Remi.

During Sunday evening's episode of Love Island, Remi was sent home after the recoupling. While new girl Danica Taylor chose first and decided to couple up with Luca Bish, it was Indiyah Polack who was tasked with deciding between Remi and Ikenna Ekwonna, who she had been coupled up with since the start.

And fans were less than impressed with Luca's reaction to being chosen by Danica.

The decision means Luca and Gemma Owen are no longer in a couple, and will no longer share a bed together.

Having not had the chance to properly get to know any of the boys before the recoupling, Danica chose Luca based on initial attraction.

But it didn't go down well with Luca himself, who looked pretty fuming to have been picked.

Fans were not happy about his reaction, with one writing on Twitter: "Luca’s reaction to getting picked was highkey gross. Relax."

Love Island continues at 9:00pm on ITV2.
