GMB's Kate Garraway Responds To Backlash On Her Outfit Choice

GMB's Kate Garraway Responds To Backlash On Her Outfit Choice

Kate's dress made quite a splash on Friday.

Kate Garraway's outfit choice was a major talking point on ITV's Good Morning Britain this Friday.

The 54-year-old presenter found herself defending her "flamboyant" dress as soon as the show kicked off.

It wasn't long before viewers at home were writing to ITV to tell them what they thought of Kate's outfit - and their critiques were read out live on air! Watch here:

Kate's dress of choice was black with a colourful floral print, topped off with a bright yellow and pink peasant collar.

And while it's not unlike the mother-of-two to go for bold colours and prints, there was something about her latest look that really rubbed people the wrong way.

One cheeky viewer wrote in to say: "Loving the pizza slices around Kate's neck."

Another joked: "I thought Mrs Tumble was presenting GMB this morning."

Even Kate's co-host Ben Shephard couldn't help commenting on Kate's bright look, telling her: "It's stating: 'Don't look over there, look over there.'"

Defending her outfit, Kate replied: "It's Friday so I thought let's be cheerful."

Other viewers loved Kate's look, and were happy to write in in support of the floral 'fit.

"It's bold, fun, classy and gorgeous. Perfect match for Kate," commented one fan.

"On a cold, frosty, February morning, I appreciate it very much," tweeted a second.

"Kate is absolute sunshine and she totally would pull off 70s fashion today" added a third.

Later in the show, Kate revealed that she and newsreader Charlotte Hawkins had had a late night at the Broadcast Awards 2022 the night before.

While GMB came home empty-handed, ITV did collect trophies for Best Entertainment Programme and Best News/Current Affairs Programme.

Kate had been nominated for her highly emotional ITV documentary Finding Derek, but lost out to Noah Media Group and BBC's Finding Jack Charlton.
